BRIDGE Foot Police Amateur Boxing Club prospect Jordan West will bid to become the club's first national schoolboy champion today, Sunday.
West has reached the national schoolboy finals at Knottingley Leisure Centre near Wakefield, having already beaten one national champion in the competition.
He will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of Lee Ward, who won the national junior title and the Four Nations silver medal last year.
Ward and fellow Bridge Foot boxer Tom Spicer have both started their campaign in this year's Junior ABA Championships by winning the West Lancashire junior WBA titles.
Ward stopped Marsh Lane's C Ventura in the second round, while Spicer defeated Sefton ABC's K Hart on a clear points decision after four rounds.
Class-six boxers Ward and Spicer go forward to the North West Counties finals in the respective 48 to 50kg and 66 to 70kg categories, while Michael Williams is also in the finals in the class five 46 to 48kg section.
Bridge Foot will stage their third show of the season at The Halliwell Jones Stadium on March 29 in aid of the Wooden Spoon charity.
A few tables are available at £35 per head and tickets can be purchased by contacting Hook and Jab Gym on 637335.
