WARRINGTON Wizards will be aiming to gain a morale-boosting victory against in-form Bramley Buffaloes on Saturday in readiness for their new league campaign.

Danny Lima's boys entertain unbeaten Bramley in their final Northern Rail Cup group game at Wilderspool on Saturday at 2.30pm knowing that three successive away defeats have wrecked their chances of moving into the knockout stages of the competition.

Their latest loss came against Dewsbury Celtic, who trailed 22-4 at half time and fought back with 40 unanswered points to gain their first win in the group.

Lima was left bemused by his side's collapse at Dewsbury on Saturday and said: "We played exceptionally well in the first half, sticking to the game plan and doing the basics right, but in the second half the lads clocked off and let Celtic run the show.

"Our completion rate was woeful, meaning that we were constantly on the back foot. Full credit to Dewsbury for taking their opportunities and they deserved the win."

Lima added: "We need to bounce back on Saturday against Bramley to give ourselves a confidence boost before the start of the league campaign.

"The Buffaloes are unbeaten in the NRC so it would be nice for us to put one over on them.

"They are a very good side and will provide us with a stern test, but we are a formidable side on our own patch and I am confident that we can put in a good display."

Wizards' tries at Dewsbury were scored by Harry Archer, David Yii, Matt Wilson, Mike Grady.
