STEVE Pickersgill has been named in Wolves' 20-man squad for Sunday's trip to Wakefield despite turning his ankle during a spot of boxing training last week.

Pickersgill missed Sunday's home game against Hull KR and did not train in the early part of this week because of the injury, sustaining during extra training.

Paul Cullen said earlier this week that the 21-year-old prop was unlikely to be fit for Belle Vue but he has been named in the squad and could be in contention for a bench spot in the absence of forward Adrian Morley.

"Steve Pickersgill injured himself doing extra training late on Friday night so he didn't make the under 21s game," said Cullen.

"He was in the original 20 last week but was doing some extra conditioning - some extra boxing actually - and turned his ankle."

Chris Bridge has been named in the 20-man squad and is likely to return from a groin injury but there is no place for Lee Briers, who has been ruled out with a hamstring problem.

Wakefield's new signing Ricky Bibey is in their squad for the first time this season after recovering from injury.
