WARRINGTON Town are planning a celebration of the biggest honour in their history.

Town will mark the 20th anniversary of their FA Vase Final appearance at Wembley with a reunion at Cantilever Park on April 27.

The event, expected to include a buffet and cabaret, will be open to players, coaches and officials involved in the 3-2 defeat to St Helens as well as supporters.

Current director of football Derek Brownbill, as well as 1987 manager Dave Taylor, former chairman Bob Smith and current president Eric Shaw, the trainer in 1987, have had an initial meeting to plan the celebrations.

Brownbill said: "That must have been the biggest occasion in Town's history so far and we wouldn't want the 20th anniversary to pass without getting everyone back together for a shindig."

Anyone wanting to join in the celebrations can contact Brownbill on 07968 768784.
