GIANTS paid the price for some handling errors in the first half and, despite a valiant fight back in the second period, failed to make up the points difference. Liam Gilooley crossed for two tries.

CROSFIELDS reached the final of the North West Counties Plate after a tense and thrilling semi final. Jim Rookes, two, and David Mee scored tries.

WOOLSTON saved their best performance of the season to secure a place in the Development Plate final, with Files' two tries helping them progress.

LATCHFORD gifted the game to the home side through some poor defence and discipline. Steven Darbyshire scored a hat-trick of tries although Joe Keenan was the player of the match.

Pilkingtons u12 26 Rylands Sharks u12 8.

RYLANDS started brightly and produced plenty of effort but lost to Pilkingtons in the cup semi final despite tries from Ben Walker and Sam Woodall.

CROSFIELDS edged out a much-improved Mustangs outfit in an exciting game. Player of the match David Winders had strong support from Connor Messenger and Robson Boyne.

RYLANDS played some fast and exciting rugby when in possession, while tackling Wigan St Judes into submission in a hard-fought game. Tries were scored by Joe Ryan, two, Tyler Whittaker, Kurt Whitely and Kane Ditchfield.

Latchford Albion u11 20 Oldham St Annes u11 20.

LATCHFORD produced a much-improved performance against a big Oldham side, snatching a draw thanks to tries from Harvey Livett, Phil Judson and Sean Withington.

Burtonwood u11 18 Langworthy u11 34.

LANGWORTHY got the better of Burtonwood despite player of the match Matt Dalton scoring two tries and others coming from Nathan Thompson and Will Weir.

Widnes West Bk u10 18 Rylands Sharks u10 24.

RYLANDS managed to keep the lead throughout Sunday's close game on the strength of tries from top tackler Callum Leonard, two, Joe Oakes, Luke Boyd and coach's award winner Thomas Byrne.

ALTHOUGH Latchford did not score there was plenty of desire and determination on show in other parts of the game with every player showing good signs of development.

CROSFIELDS produced an outstanding team performance but the individual honours went to player of the match James Lawrie, top tackler Adam Sunderland and coach's award winner James Messenger.

PLAYER of the match was awarded to Jacob Proudlove, while the coach's award went to debut player Nathan Ashbrook. The tackler of the match was Mikey Syres and the sponsors' trophy was awarded to Charlie Mercer.

RYLANDS performed strongly in defence and produced some fluent passes which led to some brilliant tries scored by Kieran Evans, Danny Walker, top tackler Lloyd Roby and player of the match Casey Brown.
