JON Clarke reckons Wolves will need to hang on to possession better against Hull KR on Sunday after handling errors cost them against St Helens.
Saints piled on 32 second-half points during Friday's 48-12 defeat and Clarke felt Wolves tired in the latter stages because they conceded possession too easily during the match.
"We were extremely disappointed after the St Helens game and we were our own worst enemies," he said.
"Without taking anything away from St Helens, we gave them too much ball with penalties and knock-ons.
"We turned a lot of ball over and it told in the final part of the game."
Adrian Morley could only watch Friday's game from the sidelines as he recovered from a fractured eye socket and admitted it was not easy viewing.
He said: "Saints are in a particularly rich vein of form so we don't take anything away from them but I thought we had an off night and it didn't help losing the two half backs with injury. It was a disappointing one to watch.
"You can handle being beaten by a team that are better than you on the night if it is a close affair.
"But we were really blown off the park, which was disappointing."
