PAUL Cullen has defended his side's defence after a record of 130 points conceded in five games this season.
Only Salford have shipped more points in Super League this season and 108 of the points conceded by Wolves have come in their three home games.
That included a 36-20 loss to Bradford and Friday's 48-12 defeat to world club champions St Helens - injury-affected reverses that Cullen feels have distorted the statistics.
He said: "There have been two spells - the last 20 minutes against Bradford and the last 20 against St Helens.
"On both occasions we have had men falling off the field and the wheels have fallen off.
"Apart from that defensively we have been very sound and have had great effort throughout the first five games of the season."
