PAUL Cullen has thrown down the gauntlet to the 10 players not yet under contract for 2008.

Wolves have some star names out of contract at the end of the season and the possible return of Andrew Johns could eat into the club's salary cap money.

Louis Anderson has already signed for 2008 and several players will need to impress this year to earn a new deal.

"We have a lot of personnel who have an awful lot riding on this season," said Cullen.

At least one of Wolves' overseas quota players - Brent Grose, Paul Rauhihi and Michael Sullivan - would have to go if Australian legend Johns signs, while others out of contract include Henry Fa'afili and Mark Gleeson.

Out of contract at the end of the season: Henry Fa'afili, Brent Grose, Chris Leikvoll, Paul Rauhihi, Mark Gleeson, Michael Sullivan, Richie Barnett, Steve Pickersgill, Andy Bracek, Mike Wainwright.

Contracted for 2008: Stuart Reardon, Martin Gleeson, Paul Johnson, Chris Bridge, Lee Briers, Jon Clarke, Adrian Morley, Ben Westwood, Vinnie Anderson, Rob Parker, Paul Wood, Simon Grix, Ben Harrison, Chris Riley, Michael Cooper, Kevin Penny, Louis Anderson.
