Bank Quay Bulls 11 Blackbrook 22.

BANK Quay Bulls' hopes of their first North West Counties Amateur Rugby League Premier Division title are over after Saturday's defeat against Blackbrook.

Bulls, who play away to Barrow Island on Saturday, dominated the first half with some superb defence and went 9-0 ahead thanks to a try from Jon Walker as well as a conversion, penalty goal and drop goal from Anthony Braide.

But a lapse in concentration cost Bank Quay dear with Blackbrook scoring an unconverted try with the last play of the first half.

Blackbrook started strongly in the second period, scoring un unconverted try, but Bulls quickly responded with a third goal from Braide.

Blackbrook's superior fitness allowed them to take control of the last quarter, with a long-range converted try putting Blackbrook ahead.

A second converted try from distance put the game out of reach.

Best for Bulls were Walker, Craig Millington and Ryan Fieldhouse.
