ABACUS shocked Warrington Sunday Soccer League Premier Division leaders Cheshire Hawthorne in the quarter finals of the Denis Scholes Challenge Trophy at the weekend.

First Division side Abacus edged past Cheshire Hawthorne 1-0 thanks to Shaun Homer's goal six minutes from time.

Commercial joined Abacus in the semis as a double from Mark Kutton and goals from Chris McCabe and John Galas gave them a 4-1 triumph against Britannia, for whom Wayne Warburton replied.

Monk Sports came from 2-0 down to lead 3-2 in their Premier Division clash with Wilkies before being denied victory with the last kick of the game.

Chris Bimie found the net and Dominic Elliot scored twice for Wilkies, while Monk's goals came from Dave Taylor, Owen Roberts and Mike Owen.

Paul Caffrey's strike gave Jacks a 1-1 draw with Turf and Feather in Division One, while Ritchie Mottram and Carl Greenwood scored for Division Two side Grange Red Lion in their 2-2 draw with Elephant, for whom Liam Highton and Gary Highton got on the scoresheet.

Robbie Cameron scored Original Wire's goal in their 1-1 draw with Waterloo, while Ste Hitchmough struck twice as Wolf Pack, whose other goals came from Mark Tilling, Anthony Hitchmough and an own goal, defeated Sandymoor 5-2 in Division Three.

Goalkeeper Ryan Willis saved a penalty as Jolly Tanner, for whom Anthony Bradish and Michael Hughes hit the target, recorded a 2-1 triumph against Knights, whose goal came from Danny Nichols.

Alex Dunne and Craig Hoyland scored in Stockton Heath Phoenix's 2-2 draw with Seven Woods, for whom Craig Bishop and Tony Dale.

Stu Norman completed a hat-trick and Phil Scott also scored as Lymm Park clinched a 4-4 draw with Five Star Athletic in Division Four thanks to a last-minute penalty.

Michael Doyle, Paul Durbin, Craig Patterson and Jimmy Murphy all struck as Dragons' match with Grappenhall also finished 4-4.
