PAUL Cullen reckons the groin injury Chris Bridge sustained against St Helens on Friday night may have been related to his recent hamstring problem.

Bridge returned from three weeks out with a hamstring tear against Harlequins last week but limped off in the second half of Wolves' 48-12 home defeat to Saints with a suspected groin tear.

Cullen said: "Unfortunately in circumstances like this there's a compensation issue and I think that's the situation. The hamstring held and something else has gone.

"We managed him very well last week when he did exceptionally well and contributed to a win.

"We just couldn't get him in good field position on Friday with good ball and when he did he looked very dangerous. On the back of a dynamic run he's tore his groin."

Wolves are still waiting for news about how long Bridge will be out, as they are with Lee Briers and Paul Wood, who also sustained injuries on Friday.

Cullen said: "Lee Briers looks like he's pulled his hamstring and Paul Wood has re-damaged an old shoulder injury."

Cullen said at the weekend that Bridge and Briers are unlikely to play in Wolves' next match against Hull Kingston Rovers on Sunday.
