LYMM men's team beat second place Alderley Edge 3-0 at the weekend to put them five points clear at the top of North West Hockey League Division Eight South and guarantee themselves promotion.
Lymm had the vast majority of the play but did not convert to their usual standard but were still comfortable winners.
It was a good day for the club's women's team, who won 15-0 at Oxton and are looking forward to taking on second-placed Whitchurch on Saturday in a title decider.
