LYMM High School's under 15s rugby union side will be bidding to follow former pupil David Strettle to Twickenham when they play their Daily Mail National Cup semi final against Wellington College on Saturday.

Strettle will make his first Twickenham appearance for the full England team this weekend and Lymm will be set for a showpiece final at the home of English rugby union on March 28 if they can defeat their Berkshire opponents in the semi, which will be played in Wolverhampton.

Lymm's under 18s were victorious at Twickenham last year in the Daily Mail Vase Final against London Leisure College and under 15s coach Simon Baker believes his side have a good chance this year.

"We're at full strength," he said. "We managed to get some good quality preparation in by winning the Bradford Grammar Sevens, which was useful for morale and fitness.

"To be honest, finding schools who want to play us at this level has been quite difficult. That said, we are the best under 15s team in the north without a shadow of a doubt."
