PLAYING our way will be the key to the game against St Helens.

Saints play really fast but we've got to play the way we want to play and not let them play like that.

I believe we can beat anyone on our day. It's just about cutting out our mistakes and playing to our gameplan.

Saints are a very good side and a win against them would be very good for the team, for confidence and for where we want to be in the table.

We've had a pretty good start to the season, although we're not playing at our best and I think everyone knows that. But we've still got three wins out of four and we're going to get better.

We were pleased with the win at Harlequins on Saturday but we still came up with a lot of errors.

I think our handling is letting us down at times, mine as well - I came up with a few knock-ons at Harlequins.

But we were happy to come from 12-0 down. London is a difficult place to play because you're a long way from home and it takes you out of your routine.

My first try of the season was a little confidence boost for me because I had a poor game against Hull the week before.

I thought I let myself down and at the beginning of last week it was playing on my mind.

You don't want to let the lads down - we could have lost against Hull and it probably would have been my fault.

Mistakes will happen but when you are playing full back your mistakes are always highlighted because if you make a mistake they score.

But you've just got to pick yourself up and get on with it.

I thought Chris Bridge went really well at Harlequins considering he was coming back from a bad hamstring tear.

Having him back is a big boost because he's a tremendous player and the more games he plays, the better he will get.

Both Bridgey and Grixy have been injured recently and the three of us haven't really played together yet.

I think we've only played one game since I came here. It always seems that one of the Yorkshire lot gets injured.

I think Grixy's very mentally tough because he's had a lot of things to go through.

But he's come in every day, got on with his rehab and kept his chin up.

I'm sure he'll have a great season when he comes back and forces his way into the team.

He's a top player, he showed that last year and I think he'll come back from this.

* I've known Richie Barnett for quite a while because he only lives a stone's throw away from my house in Bradford.

He's a good lad but I saw recently that he claimed in the programme that he smashed me during a club game a few years back.

He might have smashed me but if you ask him how that game went, my team were under 17s and his team were under 19s and we beat them in a final.

I got man of the match as well but Richie didn't mention that!
