MARTIN Gleeson reckons world club champions St Helens do have weaknesses - and Wolves have been working out how to exploit them this week.

Gleeson's former club have swept all before them in the last 12 months, winning four trophies including the World Club Challenge against Brisbane Broncos two weeks ago.

But no team is infallible and the in-form Great Britain centre thinks there are one or two areas where Wolves can get at Saints when the two sides meet at The Halliwell Jones Stadium tomorrow, Friday, at 8pm.

"The coach has pointed out a few things where he wants us to go at and how he wants us to play," said Gleeson.

"We'll try to do that but it's easier said than done with a team like Saints.

"You've got to be on the ball against them and if you're not they'll burn you.

"They got back to form by beating Brisbane and then they were awesome against Bradford in the first half.

"We're not going too bad ourselves but Saints are a class team and we're aiming to beat them, especially at home.

"And they've lost twice in Super League already, so they can be beaten, but we'll have to play really well to do that."

Good start

Wolves can go top of the table with a win and four victories from their first five games would represent an excellent start to the season.

"We're not worrying about whether we're top at this stage of the season," said Gleeson.

"We just want to play well and we've not started a game that well this season, we've been coming from behind most times.

"We've started slow and caught up but we're not going to be able to do that this week so we're aiming for a good start.

"We looked at the start of the season and our first five or six games and it's been all top sides, so I think to come up with four out of five wins, we'd be very happy with that.

"We've been quite happy with how we've started but we think there's maybe room for improvement because we don't feel we've really played that well so far."

Gleeson has not been on the winning side against his old club since leaving Knowsley Road for £270,000 two years ago and he is keen to put that right tomorrow.

He said: "We've not got the win against them but every time we've played them we've always given them a good game and there's only been one or two points in it.

"It's always a good game and it's going to be a sell-out but we do need that win against them, which has eluded us since I came to Warrington.

"It would be a good gift for the fans, for us and everyone throughout the club.

"Since I've been at Warrington we've been able to every team except Saints.

"They always bring loads of fans over and we always have loads of fans, so it's one of those mega games and we could do with the points."
