LEE Briers is likely to resume goal-kicking duties against St Helens on Friday.

Briers handed over the duties to Chris Bridge during the second half of Saturday's win at Harlequins after missing all three of his conversion kicks to the left-hand side, although he did land one of two drop goal attempts at the Stoop.

The Wolves skipper has been suffering from a groin injury so handed over to Bridge, who was making his return after recovering from a hamstring tear and put the ball between the sticks from the touchline with his only kick.

But Paul Cullen said: "Lee doesn't like to push his duties on to anyone unless he feels he needs to.

"Having two very good goal-kickers is a bonus to any team.

"The switch on Saturday was a result of the injury Lee Briers has been carrying for the past two or three weeks. Lee has had a problem with his groin.

"Chris Bridge literally hasn't kicked a ball since he came off against Wigan because he had a hamstring injury and you don't want to put a tear through such stress, even though it was on his left leg and he kicks with his right foot. The anchor leg still takes a lot of stress.

"Chris is an instinctive kicker, as is Lee Briers. They kick by feel and by instinct.

"Lee was falling to his left-hand side, which is what he does when he's not kicking goals well.

"Briersy threw it to Chris Bridge and he stepped up, never thought about it for more than a second and put it over from the touchline.

"It was a fantastic piece of skill and lifted the team.

"When we needed a play, the players came up with it."
