VINNIE Anderson felt Wolves' 19-12 win at Harlequins on Saturday was a big result for his new club.

Harlequins had made an unbeaten start to the season and would have gone top of Super League with a win but Wolves came from 12-0 down to take the two points.

Paul Cullen's men had endured a nightmare opening 15 minutes, which saw Quins score their first try after Anderson had given away possession with a stray offload, but Wolves' new signing felt a return to the gameplan allowed them to play their way back into the game.

"Saturday was a big game for us," said Anderson, who had agreed to join the London club two years ago before their financial problems meant he joined St Helens instead.

"Harlequins have been in some good form and it is always a difficult place to get a result, so it was great to get a win.

"But I thought we played pretty poorly in the first half, particularly myself.

"I was really unhappy with the way I was going but we addressed it at half time and I thought the second half was really good. We stuck to our gameplan.

"In the first half we wanted to make sure we completed our sets and played in their half.

"We didn't play in their half at all, though, we turned the ball over all the time and did some silly plays.

"But in the second half our completion was heaps better."
