Moss Bank Bulldogs 30 Woolston Rovers 30.

WOOLSTON Rovers recovered from 30-12 down to secure a draw at Moss Bank in Mark Norris Building Services North West Counties Division Six on Saturday.

Woolston's St Helens opponents scored 14 points in the first eight minutes and there was another seven minutes of sustained pressure from the Bulldogs before Rovers really started to get into the game.

In what was the first decent set Woolston had put together, Clint Rylance found Andy Addison running a great angle to score, although the conversion was missed.

It took a further 13 minutes before Rovers scored again with Luke Andrews crashing over from dummy half, with the conversion missed again.

The home team led 16-8 and that is how it looked set to stay for the first half but, right on the stroke of half time, the Moss Bank winger seized upon a lost ball and ran in from the halfway line.

At half time Moss Bank led 20-8 but it only stayed that way for five minutes, with Rylance again putting somebody through the gap.

This time Paul Berry was on the end of it, although again the conversion missed.

That spell from Woolston shook the Moss Bank club back into life and with two quick scores they found themselves with a 30-12 lead.

Again the boys in green and gold, who travel to New Spring Lions on Saturday, fought back with Berry going on his own and making a try from nothing.

Then it was Rylance's turn to get in on the act, barrelling over with a barnstorming run on the last tackle.

Then came probably the try of the day with Mark Roughneen scoring from about 60 metres out with some dazzling footwork, also converting his own try to tie the scores at 30-30.
