JEREMY Fagan won three races as Warrington Rowing Club hosted the Head of the Mersey event on Saturday.

The 4,000m time-trial competition attracted 90 boats and Fagan was victorious in the senior one single sculls as well as the senior two double sculls and the senior three coxless pair with Mark Lavery.

Warrington, who recently won the Warrington Sports Personality Club of 2006 award, won a total of 16 races.

Tom Pearson won the junior 16 single sculls before clinching victory in the quadruple sculls with Luke Balcerak, Mike Pownall and James Whitehead.

Matt Spence won the junior 15 single sculls before linking up with Phil Lyons to win the double sculls, while Chris Johnstone was the victor in the junior 18 single sculls race and Ben Holder won the novice single sculls.

Hannah Unsworth completed a double after following her girls' junior 18 single sculls triumph with a win in the double sculls with Katy McQuillian.

Jenny Pearson won the girls' junior 16 single sculls as well as the junior 15 coxed quad sculls with Bryony Ackroyd, Lottie Cooper, Olivia Clubley and cox Joshua Goswell.

Kelly Blackwell, Alison Brighton, Claire Roberts, Pippa Valentine and cox Liz Newton won the women's senior three coxed four, while Gael Tavernier won the senior three coxed double sculls in a composite with Runcorn Rowing Club and Emma Dunbavand similarly teamed up with Warrington's neighbours to win the girls' junior 18 quad.
