WARRINGTON karate ace Luke Scott won gold at the Amateur Martial Arts International Karate Open in Nottingham at the weekend.
Eighteen countries took part but none could defeat North West Karate Academy's Scott in the men's senior kumite (fighting) contest in the 70kg division.
Alex Hodge, who teamed up with Scott and Paul Charlton to win silver in the senior team kata (patterned moves), was third behind Scott in the 70kg kumite.
Natalie Charlton won two silvers, one in the 13 to 15 years girls' kumite at under 55kg level and one with Nicole Halsall and Amy Cook in the 10 to 15 years girls' team kumite in the over 45kg category.
Cook also won bronze in the 12 to 13 years girls' kata and 13 to 15 years girls' kumite in the over 55kg section, while Halsall secured bronze in the 13 to 15 years girls' kumite in the over 55kg group.
Lydia Coleman clinched silver in the 10 to 11 years kumite under 35kg and a bronze in the kata, one place behind Samantha Anderton.
