PAUL Cullen believes rugby league has cleaned up its act since his playing days.

All incidents during games are now subject to television scrutiny and any indiscretions often lead to a charge by the RFL.

"It's a far cleaner game than when I played it," said Cullen.

"The game's almost sterile compared to how it used to be.

"It's so well scrutinised, if the officials miss it on Sunday they will get you on Monday through the video system.

"The officials are not only assessing themselves on Monday, they are looking at everything that goes on from virtually every angle.

"Not that anyone should expect it, but you can't get away with anything these days."
