SUPER League squad man Kevin Penny crossed for two tries as Warrington Wolves defeated Hull FC 28-26 in the opening Senior Academy Championship game of 2007 at Wilderspool Stadium on Saturday.
The 19-year-old was joined on the score sheet by fellow winger Chris Murphy, who also bagged two tries, with scrum half Craig White also touching down and stand off Andy Moulsdale adding four conversions.
Warrington's win was put down to their ability to hang on while under pressure.
They had to wait until the 55th minute before they were able to get ahead of a strong Hull side, with England international Graeme Horne crossing twice for the visitors.
