Warrington Wolves 25 Hull FC 24.

A 77th-minute drop goal from Lee Briers gave Warrington Wolves their second win of engage Super League XII today.

Wolves clawed back from 12-0 behind to lead 22-12 after 57 minutes but last year's Grand Final runners up were still full of fight and the game was on a knife edge at 24-24 after Australian winger Matt Sing touched down and Paul Cooke converted in the 75th minute.

However, Briers, who missed an earlier one-pointer when the scores were 24-18, made no mistake with his 25m effort even with Hull bodies hurtling towards him.

Wolves fell behind soon after prop Paul Rauhihi was sent to the sin bin for dissent.

From the penalty, centre Richard Whiting ghosted over in the 15th minute and two minutes later Hull skipper Lee Radford crossed, with stand off Cooke converting both.

Stand off Mike Sullivan opened Warrington's account, scuttling over from acting half back in the 23rd minute and Briers converted from wide out.

Briers then darted through a huge gap to reduce the deficit to two points in the 28th minute and landed a penalty with the last kick of the first half to turn around 12-12.

Centre Martin Gleeson's break led to hooker Jon Clarke scrambling over in the 47th minute before loose forward Vinnie Anderson popped up on the left wing to touch down on his home debut in the 57th minute.

Winger Gareth Raynor sped over in the corner for Hull and Cooke cut the difference to four points with a towering conversion but Briers made it 24-18 with a penalty success after Cooke's obstruction.

Wolves defended some heavy Hull pressure until Sing darted over with Cooke's goal levelling matters and set the scene for Briers' heroics.
