WARRINGTON swimmer Helen Crookes was in record-breaking form while competing against some of Britain's top swimmers in the British Universities National Long Course Swimming Championships at Ponds Forge International Pool in Sheffield.
Following on from her success at the BUSA Short Course Championships last year, when she snapped up all three Manchester Metropolitan University breaststroke records, she repeated the feat at the weekend's long-course event.
Crookes gained the MMU records in 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke events.
She improved on her entry time to finish 12th in the 50m in 37.23secs, missing a place in the final by a mere 20th of a second.
Crookes again improved on her entry time to gain a place in the 200m final in 2mins 55.01secs. She finished in seventh place in the final.
She improved on her 100m entry time by more than one-and-a-half seconds, snatching a place in the final where she finished 10th in 1min 20.88secs.
