SAMOA are set to be without two of their leading packmen when they face Fiji in the Rugby League World Cup quarter final at Warrington Wolves' Halliwell Jones Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Second rower Leeson Ah Mau, of St George Illawarra Dragons, and loose forward Sauaso Sue, of Wests Tigers, have both been suspended for one match after incidents in last night’s defeat of France at Stade Gilbert Brutus in Perpignan.
They are two of Samoa’s top three tacklers during the tournament.
Ah Mau’s punishment is for Grade A striking with a shoulder on France scrum half William Barthau in the 13th minute.
While Sauaso Sue’s ban is for Grade A tripping on the same player in the 58th minute.
The International Match Review Panel also issued a formal caution to Sue for striking Barthau with his shoulder in the 14th minute.
Both players have until 11am tomorrow to accept the sanction or lodge an appeal.
Any appeal would be heard at an International Disciplinary Tribunal at Red Hall in Leeds tomorrow evening.
