WARRINGTON Wolves have recalled stand off Gareth O’Brien from his loan spell at Castleford Tigers.
The 21-year-old has been on a month-long loan with Wolves’ Super League rivals, but due to the injury to playmaker Lee Briers head of coaching and rugby Tony Smith has deemed it sensible to bring O’Brien back to Warrington.
It is expected he will play against Salford City Reds at the City Stadium on Friday night, 8pm.
Smith has also ruled out a return to action for both Ben Harrison, who is recovering from a hernia operation, and Trent Waterhouse, who is suffering from a gluteus strain.
Neither will be fit to face Salford, but Smith was hopeful that one or both will be ready for a Super League return against league leaders Huddersfield Giants on Friday, March 22.
