I AM not sure if Gary Bebbington lives in Grappenhall or fantasy land (Warrington Guardian, February 2).
Certainly most of his letters make little sense for people who actually venture out of their front doors.
All town and city centres are facing the same issues with a fall in people shopping.
The are loads of empty shops in Chester. Debenhams anyone? Stayed as empty as the Warrington one since they shut and that is simply because there is no retailer big enough to occupy it.
Chester has more shoppers because it has a tourist trade Warrington does not have.
But to say it is a shining example of retail while Warrington is full of empty stores is nonsense.
Has he been to Warrington town centre lately? Golden Square is fairly full, busy of a weekend.
The former Co-op building is being transformed into a shopping and eating hub for dozens of small businesses.
It is complete nonsense to say Warrington offers nothing.
Chester has some Roman walls, otherwise it is very similar to Warrington.
