I READ with interest the article on the opinion page of the Warrington Guardian written by Andy Carter.
I thought levelling up was to address the problems between the north and south and the difference between the more affluent areas and the disadvantaged areas.
I was on the board of Stronger Together in Warrington, it was set up to among other reasons to address the health inequality between the different areas of Warrington.
The life expectancy between Bewsey, Dallam, Longford and the likes of Lymm, Grappenhall and Stockton Health was and still is truly appalling. Surely the team from Warrington Council and Andy Carter should be wanting government funding to make deprived areas and affluent areas more equal.
How will a state of the performance hall at Lymm High School possibly level up areas like the deprived areas of Warrington south and benefit from the bid Andy Carter is so proud of.
The council made redundant the community development workers who helped and advised local residents to apply for funding to make life more bearable for deprived families.
Does Andy Carter know that Bewsey, Dallam and Whitecross are in Warrington South.
