We celebrate St Rocco’s in an eight-page special ahead of the formal birthday celebrations this week.
And it is clear from patients to nurses and staff to volunteers, this is a charity that has a special place in the hearts of people in the town.
What we also discover is that plans are already in place for new innovations.
It would be lovely to think of a time again where there was no need for a cancer hospice in Warrington.
But while there is, let us be thankful that St Rocco’s is a place residents of this town can put their trust in.

WARRINGTON Hospital has been under much focus in the past week.
But our story this week of the success of the diabetes service for young people shows there is still tremendous work going on there.
Diabetes is an illness you might normally expect to be associated with older people so it is fascinating to get an insight into what is being done for young people.
And it is a relief to see that outcomes for young people in Warrington are so much better than elsewhere.

IT has been an historic season for Warrington Town and it was topped off in style on Thursday night.
The club beat Farsley to win the Doodson Sport Cup at Stockport’s Edgeley Park, securing a first trophy in 14 years.
It comes hot on the heels of an FA Cup run to the second round, for the first time in the club’s history, before Christmas that resulted in some extraordinary memories and invaluable profile.
The aim in topping all of this success will be to secure a welldeserved promotion in 2016.
