A WARRINGTON-based construction business is working in Stockport to deliver an affordable housing development.
The Land End Group in Stockport Road, Thelwall, will be in partnership with Viaduct Housing to provide 144 new homes in Offerton with a mixture of one and two bed apartments and two, three and four bed houses for rent, shared ownership and to buy.
Work is due to begin early this year.
Richard Harrison, managing director of the Lane End Group, said: "We are exceptionally proud to be working alongside Viaduct Housing Partnership for this scheme on Hempshaw Lane.
"The work we will be carrying out is part of the £1bn regeneration plan for Stockport and for our business to be transforming an historic building in the Battersby Hat Factory really is a statement project in our expanding portfolio of developments.
"The factory is the last remaining example of Stockport’s hat making tradition and we’re delighted to be restoring that with a blend of new housing which will bring the old building back to life.
"We worked extremely hard to deliver this through planning and it’s a testament to the Lane End team to what can be achieved on an existing brownfield site.
"The development we will create is a fantastic example of new housing alongside an iconic building in an area that is rich in industrial heritage.
"Having already delivered two previous developments with Viaduct we’re excited about this next project, continuing our excellent relationship with Stockport Metropolitan Brough Council and Stockport Homes Group and building much needed housing in the area."
