THE transition from high school to college is a big leap.
Especially when not only the subjects change but also the environment and people around you.
Going from being the oldest in a school to the youngest person in a new institution is an especially daunting experience.
A smooth transition is almost impossible and I think for someone to get through those first few weeks at college with ease shows great determination, maturity and confidence.
I asked Sehreen Shafaat, a student previously from Bridgewater High School and now at Priestley College, how the start of her college year had gone so far.
She responded: "I love it! I get treated with a lot more respect and am only studying the things I want to do. My courses are brilliant and the people are really friendly!"
