THE number of patients in the town waiting more than 18 weeks for NHS treatment has doubled, according to new figures.
The statistics, revealed by Warrington North MP Helen Jones, showed the number of patients waiting had increased by 64 per cent between May 2010 and November 2011.
Helen Jones MP said: “These numbers are more than simple statistics, they are real people having to wait longer for treatment under this Tory-led Government.”
The number waiting longer than 18 weeks has increased by 98 per cent from November 2010 to November 2011.
