PART of the roof from the away end at The Halliwell Jones Stadium has been damaged in the winds.
Council and police initially closed part of Dallam Lane, between Buckley Street and Owen Street, as a result.
A spokesman for the Wolves said: "Warrington Wolves can confirm that remedial work was immediately carried out in the West Stand of the stadium within a matter of hours of the roof damage being caused by today’s high winds.
"This ensured that the stadium was safe and Dallam Lane could reopen with the least amount of disruption caused.
"Further work will be carried out once the high winds have subsided over the next few days."
Council highways bosses say the road was back open at 3pm.
