NEARLY 500 new homes will be offered to people in the town struggling to get on to the property ladder.
The completed houses will be sold through Homeshub housing association after cash was made available by the government’s firstbuy scheme.
Work on some of the developments, including a scheme for 180 new affordable homes on Farrell Street and 77 at Regency Park, near Bewsey Road, is already under way.
To qualify for one of the 496 homes, buyers need to be new to the property market and have a household income of less than £60,000 a year.
