GOLDEN Gates Housing Trust staff enjoyed a ‘Trans Learning Lunch’ to raise awareness of issues surrounding transgender.

Chief executive Peter Mercer and chairman of the board Fran Murray joined staff after reports found 0.71 per cent of the trust’s tenants were transgender.

Peter Mercer, chief executive, said: “As an organisation we are committed to celebrating diversity and eliminating discrimination.

“Events like this are a great way for our staff to find out about some of the issues facing our communities and this was a valuable learning experience for all involved.”
