DESPITE torrential rain for much of the day, Woolston and District's annual show still went ahead without a hitch.
Although the downpours affected numbers, a substantial amount of families and visitors turned out to support the show, albeit in wellies and raincoats.
And the rain didn't prevent the usual entertainers and exhibitors taking to the stage to demonstrate their skills.
Big hits of the day were the performances of modern clown Frazer Hooper who delighted the crowds with his award-winning show which involved no words, few props but plenty of audience participation.
Other crowd-pullers were the various have-a-go activities on offer such as circus skills, woodland crafts and pottery.
Elaine Moss, Woolston Park ranger, said: "It had to happen that one year our usually fantastic weather would desert us. But despite the heavy down pours, visitors, exhibitors and entertainers braved the elements to make the most of the day."
Woolston and District Show is organised by Warrington Borough Council's Ranger Service in partnership with Woolston and District Horticulture Society and Friends of Woolston Park with financial support from Woolston Parish Council.
