A CHARITY football tournament and fun day organised by Poulton Community Partnerships and held at the University of Chester campus, on Padgate Lane, has raised more than £900 for Clatterbridge Hospital and children with cancer.
The Mayor of Warrington, Councillor Linda Dirir, and her consort Allin attended the event and took part in a penalty shoot-out.
A tug-of-war between Birchwood Police and Birchwood firefighters was a star attraction at the event with the police winning with a little help from junior football players.
The partnerships would like to say a big thank you to its sponsors, particularly the University of Chester, Liverpool Football Club and Birchwood Lions.
Referees Alex Humphreys, Tony Fields and Mark Seymour would also like to say thank you.
The winners of the under nines competition were the Cromwell Tigers, formed last year by football coaches Mike Taylor and Jerome Griffin.
Other winners included the Beechwood All Stars, Sutton Old Boys, Warrington Whites and The Jolly Tanner's adult A and B teams.
