ASDA Westbrook has teamed up with Warrington Borough Council to help explain changes in the law over child car seats to motorists tomorrow, Friday.
From this month, new legislation comes into force that will mean that youngsters either have to be sitting in a child seat or on a booster seat or cushion if they are under 12 years of age or under 1.35 metres tall.
Warrington Borough Council has joined forces with Cheshire Police and Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service to promote awareness about the change in the law.
And tomorrow from 2.30pm to 5.30pm colleagues from Warrington Borough Council's Road Safety Department will be answering questions on the new law, which comes into effect a week on Monday, September 18.
They will be giving out information and advice to parents about the new changes. And parents can also have their car seats checked by an independent adviser.
The penalty for failing to use a child restraint is a £30 fixed penalty notice.
If a case goes to court, the maximum fine is £500.
