THERE were nearly 300 incidents of crime and disorder at train stations across Warrington in the last year.
And more than a third of those took place at Warrington Bank Quay, the main station in the town.
The numbers of incidents taking place have dropped though, from a total of 305 in 2003-2004, and 283 to 2004-2005.
The total number of incidents at all station for 2005-2006 was 271.
The figures were released by the British Transport Police under the freedom of information act and are broken down into notifiable offences and non-notifiable offences The first set of offences deal with more serious issues while non-notifiable offences cover incidents such as minor public order, begging and vehicle offences.
Warrington Bank Quay has recorded more than 100 offences each year over the past three years, last year there were 115-60 of which were classified as notifiable offences.
Warrington Central recorded the second highest number of incidents and has increased over the past three years reaching 80 in 2005-2006, 34 of which were notifiable offences.
Sankey station was the next worst, with a total of 35 offences this year, 12 of which were classified as notifiable.
Birchwood station recorded a total number of 29 offences, Padgate recorded a total of 18 offences and Glazebrook recorded four offences in the year 2005 - 2006.
