THE ROYAL BRITISH LEGION PRESENTS 90th ANNIVERSARY CONCERT – MOONLIGHT SERENADE ORCHESTRA

The hardest swinging big band in the UK visits Carlisle to celebrate 90 years of The Royal British Legion. We have teamed up with the Royal British Legion to promote their competition to give three lucky readers the chance to win a pair of tickets to attend the 90th ANNIVERSARY CONCERT – MOONLIGHT SERENADE ORCHESTRA at The Sands Centre, Carlisle, Saturday 28th May at 7.30pm.

Founded in 2003 by trumpeter Kevin Cunningham, the Moonlight Serenade Orchestra UK has wowed audiences in concert halls and theatres all over Great Britain. Known for its mix of big band swing teamed with outstanding vocals, the orchestra’s repertoire ranges from the classics of Glenn Miller through Count Basie, Tommy Dorsey and Benny Goodman to the cool vibe of Sinatra with a touch of Buddy Rich thrown in. In addition to the big band numbers there are solo spots from a number of top notch musicians. ‘Ella Be Good’ with its incredible scat section is always a showstopper.

Kev Cunningham believes the orchestra is better than ever and is looking forward to an evening of swing and nostalgia, but be prepared to bring your foot tapping shoes with you!

The Royal British Legion provides help for serving and ex-Service personnel and their families. Not just those who fought in the two World Wars but also those involved in the many conflicts since 1945 and those still fighting today.

All proceeds will go to The Royal British Legion Welfare Funds.
