PLANS for an academy to be set up in Woolston ‘took the next step’ after a meeting last week.
Around 300 people attended the meeting led by former Woolston High School head boy Jonny Scotland to explain proposals for The Kings School Woolston to be built on the existing Woolston High School site.
Mr Scotland said: “Virtually everyone there by a show of hands at the end of the meeting would support our application to open the school.
“The next step now we've informed the community and made it clear what our application contains is to continue to receive support by way of signatures as we lead up to September this year when we'll know if our application is successful for the school to open September 2012.”
