TWO Old Hall residents raised £131 for a Great Sankey charity the Shannon Bradshaw Trust by hosting a street party on the day of the Royal Wedding.

Tom Edwards and John Summerfield, aged 25 and 63, of Drake Close, came up with the idea for the event at the start of April.

Fifty people turned out to the party where a buffet and barbecue were on offer followed by games of rounders and football and a raffle.

John said: “It went really well and we were pleased to be able to give the money to the trust.”
