A TUTOR at Warrington Collegiate was caught attempting to sit an exam on behalf of a student.
AN electrical lecturer used a student password and tried to take the exam. He was caught by another member of staff and has since resigned.
The incident, that happened in February last year, has been confirmed by principal Paul Hafren.
He said that the student had no knowledge of the interference and that the exam was later completed fairly.
Mr Hafren said: “A tutor accessed a student password and attempted to interfere with an exam.
“This attempt was quickly detected by the college and the member of staff resigned after this incident.
“I can confirm that there are no tribunal proceedings taking place.
“The exam board was informed at the time and they were satisfied with the college, which acted promptly, seriously and professionally in dealing with the incident.
“No student was involved in any way and the exam in question proceeded in the proper manner.”
