LABOUR claim four seats off Liberal Democrats on the night.
Steve Parish won the Bewsey and Whitecross seat from former executive board member Bob Timmis.
Ted Finnigan, the incoming Lib Dem mayor also lost his Latchford West seat.
And in surprise results Roy Smith and Judith Wheeler both lost in Great Sankey North and Whittle Hall respectively to Labour.
Roy Smith lost his seat to Labour's Dan Price and Judith Wheeler to Faisal Rashid.
Labour also held on to seats in Fairfield and Howley and Latchford East in the first of the night's results.
Outgoing mayor John Joyce also held on to Burtonwood and Winwick.
The Lib Dems held on to Appleton as Peter Walker took victory there.
