A CHARITY golf tournament will take place for toddler Bobby Brown, who was born with a rare eye condition.
Cath and Wes Brown, from Orford, thought their two-year-old son would never be able to see until Warrington Guardian readers raised £90,000 so he could undergo pioneering surgery in the United States.
Bobby’s sight is now restored in his left eye after he had two artificial cornea transplants, which were carried out at New York state’s Rochester Eye Institute in April 2009 at a cost of £50,000.
The golf event, in aid of the Bobby Brown Trust, will take place on May 21 at Birchwood Golf Club and includes 18 holes of golf, tea, coffee and bacon sandwiches, a raffle and prizes for those placed in the top four.
Anyone attending the golf will receive two tickets for an awards presentation at Bank Quay Sports Club, during the evening there will be a buffet and disco.
Ticket are £5 per person for the disco and the entry fee per player for the golf is £50. Companies can sponsor a hole for £50.
