HIGHWAYS boss Doug Crank will meet parish council officials to discuss plans for the village car parks.
Mr Crank has been asked to speak to members following a stalling of plans to introduce a pay and display scheme in the village.
The scheme, for Pepper Street, Henry Street, and Davies Way car parks has been discussed at parish council for two years after councillors were impressed by a similar scheme in Stockton Heath.
However, a resident parking zone would have to be found before the scheme could go any further.
Mr Crank wrote to the parish council to explain that decriminalisation of parking (where the borough council, instead of police, will have control of monitoring illegal parkers) would soon be in force and could speed up the process.
Parish councillors have requested a face-to-face meeting in the hope of coming up with some definite plans.
