SOME revellers were arrested as Creamfields made its mark in Daresbury.

While most of 45,000 revellers watched the likes of the Zutons and the Prodigy on Saturday, police made 18 arrests for possession with intent to supply drugs and assault.

Five other people were arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle Meanwhile residents complained their weekend was a wash out due to noise.

Jon Ayre, who lives in Appleton, said: "Being kept awake until 6am was a nightmare.

"There was a constant thud and we live three miles away.

"It was that audible I could tell when the Prodigy came on.

"The sound level at our house was 46 decibels, one decibel above the acceptable level when environmental officers came to check it at our home.

Traffic chaos was also an issue.

Carol Evans, who lives nearby said: "It was appalling all day, "My heart goes out to those unfortunate souls who live within spitting distance of this event, particularly the elderly and those with small children.

"Their bank holiday weekend must have been well and truly ruined."

Despite the flurry of complaints police say overall the festival when well.
