A MAN died after falling ill at the wheel of a car and crashing into a lamppost on the central reservation of Crosfield's roundabout at 2pm on Sunday.
The 53-year-old, from Latchford, was heading towards Liverpool when his car veered into the outside lane and on to the roundabout itself.
He reportedly suffered a fit and then a heart attack and was given CPR by paramedics, but it is understood that he died at the scene.
Police are treating the death as one by natural causes.
