SHE'S tried reality TV and movies, but now Paris Hilton has embarked on her most ambitious project by becoming a fully-fledged pop star.

In a crafty move, the heiress swiped Christina Aguilera's producer to work on her debut album, which caused much anger in the Christina camp who even went on to sing about it on her new album.

That move by Paris and her advisors seems to have paid off with an album that, quite shockingly, shows some potential.

That isn't to say the album is full of hits and there are a few dire songs that sound a bit rubbish, such as I Want You that cringingly samples Grease Is The Word and spoils a reasonable start to the album.

But there are some great songs and Paris' best effort has to be Screwed, rumoured to be a dig at her ex-boyfriend, which has a rocky edge that is guaranteed to stick in your head.

The songs themselves are of a high standard but the excessive production that drowns out the vocals quite a bit leave you wondering whether they are trying to hide a multitude of sins.

It seems that Miss Hilton can do no wrong and, thanks to a good producer, what could have been an appalling album is, in fact, a catchy pop record.
