CAMPAIGN to make motorists aware of a change in the law over child car seats has been launched.
From September, new legislation will come into force that will mean that youngsters either have to be sitting in a child seat or on a booster seat or cushion if they are under 12 or under 1.35 metres tall.
Warrington Borough Council has joined forces with Cheshire Police and Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service to hold a road show at Gulliver's tomorrow, Wednesday, to promote awareness about the change in the law.
They will be giving out information and advice to parents about the new changes. Parents can have their car seats checked and there will be activities for children.
The penalty for failing to use a child restraint is a £30 fixed penalty notice.
If a case goes to court, the maximum fine is £500.
